Free guided tours of gardens with edible landscaping.
Last year over 100 community members participated in our free walking tours of food-producing front yard gardens in Corvallis and Philomath. This year we are also including backyards and community gardens.
Tours stop at several gardens, where each resident will give a brief overview of their garden — how they transformed the space, selected what to plant, and overcame any challenges. Between presentations there is time for questions and exploration. The cycling tour covers a greater distance and focuses on community gardens.

Sponsored by the Food Action Team’s Garden Group and Bountiful Backyard. Our goal is to encourage residents to consider edible plants as an option when they landscape their yards, thereby increasing home food production in our community. In addition to fostering greater self-reliance, we hope to involve more people in the joys and health benefits of edible gardening: regular exercise, fresh air, healthful and delicious food, and a sense of connection to the neighborhood—and to the earth!
Let us know if you’d like us to feature your garden on a future tour!
