The Community Inclusion Action Team
A sustainable community is an inclusive and equitable community—one that honors and celebrates diversity and affirms community members for all aspects of their identity.
We’re committed to moving equity to the forefront of the City and County’s long term planning process. Our focus is to build collaborations and connections between the Coalition, social justice organizations, and the larger community—and to develop an equity policy for the Coalition. We have identified three components of equity to focus on: justice, representation and connection.
We are looking for volunteers who have done identity-based work and have a passion for social equity and justice. Basic understanding of systems of oppression and marginalized and privileged identities is a plus.
- Network with social justice groups, such as:
Casa Latino Unidos de Benton County • Community Action for Racial Equity • Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center • King Legacy Advisory Board • Linn Benton Health Equity Alliance • Organization of Latinas United • Out N About • PFLAG • Showing Up for Racial Justice
- Attend meetings of social justice groups to learn about their goals and projects
- Explore collaborations and resource sharing with the Coalition
