Google Transit
![]()
One of our member’s personal projects is to incorporate the transit systems in, and connecting to, Corvallis into Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/). This allows Corvallis residents to utilize the Transit option in Google Maps to plan their trips. Many major cities have been incorporated into Google maps by others.
Robert has already incorporated Corvallis Transit System, Beaver Bus, Philomath Connection, and Linn-Benton Loop Bus. Robert and a couple volunteers are currently working on incorporating Albany Transit System into Google Maps.
Once ATS is included, an individual will be able to map out their trip from anywhere in Corvallis to other major cities such as Eugene, Portland, and Seattle using one convenient and easy-to-use interface. Google Maps will determine the costs, routes, stops, and times to ride on CTS, Loop, ATS, Amtrak, and the transit system of the destination city.
Google Transit takes all the guesswork out of navigating multiple routes and systems. You input your location, destination, and when you’d like to leave or arrive and it tells you exactly where and when you can go, which routes to take, and the costs.
