Downtown Corvallis – Past, Present, Future

The public is invited to an evening of exploration and envisioning on Thursday, February 26, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Titled “Know Your City: Downtown Corvallis – Past, Present, Future”, this special program will take place at the Corvallis Benton County Public Library, 645 Monroe, Corvallis. Topics and speakers include the following:

How does the past shape the present and future downtown?
Jema Patterson, Engage Corvallis

What is the health of present downtown?
Rian Amiton, Senior Planner, Corvallis Community Development
Christopher Jacobs, Manager, Corvallis Benton County Economic Development Office

How will the Downtown Vitality Strategy Task Force (DVSTF) impact downtown?
Steve Clark, Co-chair, DVSTF

What do we want for future downtown?
Robin Lancaster, Engineer and DVSTF
Tucker Kirkes, OSU Environmental Science Student and DVSTF
Deann Garcia, President, Downtown Corvallis Organization and DVSTF

This event is in-person only. However, the program will be recorded and available the following week on the LWV Corvallis YouTube channel.

Since 2017, the Community Planning Committee of the League of Women Voters of Corvallis has offered public forums highlighting Corvallis city services and programs. The event sponsor and primary organizer of the 2026 “Know Your City” program is the League of Women Voters of Corvallis, with co-sponsorship by Corvallis Sustainability Coalition Land Use Action Team, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, City of Corvallis, and Benton County Historical Society.
