Edible Garden Tour

Corvallis area residents are invited to participate in a FREE Edible Garden Tour being offered this summer by the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s Food Action Team. The tour will take place on Wednesday, August 10 from 5 – 8 pm.

Join us for a self-guided tour of five inspiring gardens in South Corvallis that feature a variety of edibles. All five gardens are within just a few blocks of each other, making the tour friendly to both walkers and bikers. See you at the gardens!

Click HERE to see a larger map.

Tour sites:

  • 465 SE Bridgeway Ave
  • 470 SE Viewmont Ave
  • 225 SE Mayberry Ave (NOTE: this site will open at 6 pm)
  • 1465 SE Alexander Ave
  • 645 SE Alexander Ave

Participants are welcome to begin their tour at any of the above sites and to determine the order in which they visit the various gardens. Host gardeners will be on hand to talk to participants about their gardens and to answer questions.

Additional tour features include:

  • A drawing for $50 gift certificates to local nurseries
  • Copies of the 2022 Corvallis Garden Resource Guide available from docents at each site
  • Food vendors at the 1465 SE Alexander Avenue site for those who want to purchase a bite to eat

This is the ninth year of the Edible Garden Tours, which are designed to appeal to both new and experienced gardeners. Tours began in 2012 and were held each summer through 2019 but were on hiatus during the height of the pandemic (2020 and 2021).

The goal of the tours is to encourage Corvallis area residents to grow some of their own food. In addition to fostering greater self-reliance, the Food Action Team hopes to involve more people in the joys and health benefits of gardening: regular exercise, fresh air, healthful and delicious food, and a sense of connection to their community — and to the earth!
