Buy Local First

Shop locally this holiday season and support our local economy!

The annual Buy Local First campaign is back again this year from Nov. 26 – Dec. 24 with another great opportunity for businesses and community members to join together to support the local community and economy this holiday season.

From handcrafted gifts to delicious locally made food and drink, our neighborhood businesses provide the perfect opportunity to shop locally. We’re excited to help support and promote all these wonderful local businesses in our community!

Shoppers — Join the Digital Fun & Win!

Get involved with the Buy Local First campaign and be entered to win a $250 gift card to the participating business of your choice! There are three ways to enter:

  • Join Buy Local First’s email list to stay up to date at corvallisbuylocal.com
  • Take a photo at a participating business and share on Facebook or Instagram with #buylocal2021
  • Visit corvallisbuylocal.com to join our Actionbound game by checking in with photos at participating businesses

Visit corvallisbuylocal.com to learn more about participating businesses, how to shop locally this holiday season, and how to support Buy Local First.

Why Buy Local First?

  • PROSPERITY
Every dollar spent at a locally owned independent business generates two to four times more economic benefit in the community than a dollar spent at a globally owned business.
  • STABILITY
Local ownership minimizes the chance that a business will pull up stakes and move to another town.
  • FLEXIBILITY
Local business owners are generally more available to their customers to develop personal relationships, hear feedback and accommodate customer requests.
  • DIVERSITY
Local businesses help a community retain its unique character.
  • SUSTAINABILITY
Spending money at locally-owned businesses decreases transportation costs, reduces the use of underpaid labor, and rewards those that are not shipping jobs overseas.
