Parking in Corvallis: A Community Conversation was held on Tuesday evening, October 22, 2019, at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library. This event was sponsored by the Sustainability Coalition’s Land Use Action Team and the League of Women Voters of Corvallis
The program began with a presentation by Lisa Scherf, Corvallis Transportation Services Supervisor, who presented information on the City’s current parking management programs. Her presentation was followed by facilitated table discussions in an effort to identify problematic parking issues in all sectors of the City.
The conversation included parking for a variety of needs—commuter and resident, employee and employer, downtown and citywide, and special needs. Results of table discussions and participant comments were summarized by the Sustainability Coalition’s Land Use Action Team.
This conversation was the first of two programs focused on parking. A second meeting in February 2020 featured experts who presented possible strategies to address problematic parking issues.
Organized by Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s Land Use Action Team and the League of Women Voters of Corvallis.
