“Creating Housing Options” is the theme of a forum scheduled for Monday, November 13, at 7:00 pm at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, 645 NW Monroe Avenue. The forum will focus on what the City of Corvallis allows regarding accessory dwelling units (ADUs), tiny homes, and shared housing, as well as the experiences of two community members who own unique homes. There will also be information about the City’s program for first-time home buyers. This is the second of two forums on affordable housing co-sponsored by the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s Housing Action Team and the League of Women Voters Housing Committee.
Speakers at the November 13th forum will include the following:
- Jason Yaich, Planning Division Manager, City of Corvallis
- Kent Weiss, Housing and Neighborhood Services Division Manager, City of Corvallis
- Dawn Jones, long-time Corvallis resident and owner of a home that is being reconfigured to provide affordable housing for more people
- Brittni and Kyle McGann, owners of a tiny home in Philomath
The purpose of the forum is to engage the community in thinking creatively about how to address the need for more affordable housing. Information and fresh ideas are both critical to the dialogue. YOU are invited to attend and encouraged to be part of the conversation!
