Home/Energy/Live Better: Electrify Your Life

Live Better: Electrify Your Life

Webinar featuring Brian Stewart & local advocates.
Wednesday, September 21, 6 – 7:30 pm

This special online event aims to help those of us who are still dependent on natural gas — which is most of us! Learn from those who have made the transition to electricity in their home heating, water heating, cooking, and more — as well as how to finance those changes.

Speakers include:

  • KEYNOTE: Brian Stewart, co-founder of Portland-based Electrify Now, a volunteer organization dedicated to educating homeowners about the benefits of electrification as a way to improve our living experience and slow warming of the planet
  • Eric Rehm, who is building a house in Corvallis using passive house principles
  • Wendy Woods, owner of an all-electric home, speaking about how to retrofit existing homes and cut your energy use in half
  • Julie Williams, founder of Seeds for the Sol, a nonprofit helping low and middle income homeowners finance electric retrofits

The program will be moderated by Court Smith, co-founder of Electrify Corvallis, a nonprofit resource for local homeowners.

Brian Stewart has over 30 years of experience in product design, manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability. He has held various senior leadership roles at NIKE Inc., including Vice President of Sustainable Innovation, where he directed projects and created tools to deliver on corporate sustainability goals.

The fuel to heat our homes and water are the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions in our lives, next to transportation. If you’re using natural gas to heat your home, heat your water, or cook your meals, this event will help put you on a path toward electrification and a more sustainable future.

We hope you will join us to discuss our options as energy consumers!
