This celebration of International PARK(ing) Day offers opportunities for conversation, games, picnicking, creating art, relaxing—and encourages people to re-envision how we use our public spaces.

Six temporary parks will be hosted by local organizations.

Paint a banner about gardening for birds.
  • The Confluence partners
Outdoor Rx: nature prescriptions for health and well-being.
  • Corvallis Bicycle Collective
Ask-a-Wrench bike repair services and seasonal snacks on the street in front of their shop.
  • First Alternative Co-op North
Food samples, chalk art, games and a spot for picnicking.
  • Land Use Action Team
Play transportation trivia and win prizes.
  • Transportation Action Team
Play lawn games and relax on outdoor furniture.

Organized by Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s Transportation Action Team.

PARK(ing) Day 2018

PARK(ing) DayPARK(ing) Day is a global event where community members temporarily transform parking spaces into creative pop-up parks. It creates opportunities for residents, students, artists, designers and activists to rethink the use of public space by converting on-street parking spaces into interactive public spaces. The first PARK(ing) Day event took place in San Francisco in 2005 and has since spread to cities around the world, taking place on the third Friday of September.
