Don’t miss the sustainability event of the year!
Registration is now open for the 2018 Sustainability Town Hall, to be held on Monday, March 12, from 7 to 9 pm at the CH2MHill Alumni Center on the OSU campus. Save your place by registering HERE.
Participants will be seated at 40 tables of eight for a fast-paced, interactive Town Hall program that includes three parts, each with a presentation from the main stage followed by discussion and activity at the tables. A highlight of the program will be the keynote presentation by Asher Miller, the Executive Director of the Post Carbon Institute. The title of his talk is “Post Carbon Corvallis: Creating a Resilient Community”.
Founded in 2003, Post Carbon Institute’s mission is to lead the transition to a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable world by providing individuals and communities with the resources needed to understand and respond to the interrelated ecological, economic, energy, and equity crises of the 21st century. Miller is one of the authors featured in “The Community Resilience Reader”, which was published in September 2017.
Other 2018 Town Hall highlights include the annual “Community Scrapbook” displaying sustainability accomplishments of local organizations and businesses during the past year, as well as electronic voting by attendees to determine the direction of local sustainability efforts in the coming year.
The 2018 Sustainability Town Hall is organized by the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition and supported by a variety of business and organizational sponsors and individual donors.
The annual Sustainability Fair, which features delicious local food, lively music, more than 50 hands-on exhibits, and a kids’ activity room will be held at the Alumni Center from 5 to 7 pm, just prior to the Town Hall. Registration is not required for attendance at the fair. The Sustainability Fair and Town Hall are both free and open to the public.
