Want to hear some good news from 2023? Join us for an overview of the past year’s accomplishments. We think you’ll be amazed by what our action teams achieved!
The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s Annual Meeting of partner organizations and volunteers will take place on Wednesday, January 10, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Corvallis Community Center (C3), 2601 Tyler Avenue. The public is invited to attend.
The meeting will feature presentations on accomplishments of 2023 – the Coalition’s 17th year – and plans for 2024. During the past year, the Coalition’s action teams have pursued major projects, such as
- Shift Together to provide resources and funding to support everyone in our community as we make the transition to energy efficiency and renewable energy;
- Creek and wetland regeneration at Bald Hill Natural Area, Starker Arts Park, and 10 additional sites;
- Solarize Corvallis to help schools, organizations, businesses, and faith communities make the transition to solar energy;
- No Food Left Behind Corvallis to address the environmental, social, and economic impacts of wasted food;
- …and many more!
As in past years, the Coalition’s Annual Meeting sponsor is First Alternative Natural Foods Co-op, which will provide delicious “happy hour” snacks.
All of the work done by the Coalition’s action teams in 2023 focused on projects that advance environmental quality, social equity, and/or economic vitality. The 12 action teams cover the following topic areas: Community Inclusion, Economic Vitality, Education, Energy, Food, Health and Human Services, Housing, Land Use, Natural Areas, Transportation, Waste Prevention, and Water.
We hope you’ll mark your calendar and join us for this informative and uplifting event!
