March 13th event to feature more than 60 exhibits, local food, and live music
Local food, local talent, and local initiatives will be among the highlights of this year’s Sustainability Fair on Thursday, March 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center on the OSU campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The Fair will feature more than 60 hands-on exhibits, each representing a partner organization or action team of the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition. A fabulous spread of delicious local food will be provided by New Morning Bakery, and attendees will delight to the toe-tapping sounds of the Nick Rivard/Ben Woodman Jazz Guitar Duo.
The entire event will be waste-free, with recycling and composting stations located throughout the facility. Attendees can help make the Sustainability Fair a model event by walking, biking, carpooling, or taking the bus to the Alumni Center. Special bike racks will be located at the west entrance to the building. For bus schedules, see https://www.corvallisoregon.gov/cts/page/bus-schedules.
The Fair is being organized by the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition, a network of more than 350 partner organizations and hundreds of individual volunteers working together to create a sustainable community. Primary event sponsors are OSU Sustainability Office, Benton Community Foundation, First Alternative Co-op, G. Christianson Construction, Abundant Solar, Brothers Hauling & The Sustainability Store, Energy Wise Services, and Peak Heat Pumps and Electric.
