On July 12th, the Sustainability Coalition co-sponsored a webinar titled “Red Flag Warning: Preparing for Wildfire”. The video of that webinar is available HERE.
Organized by the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, the webinar gave community members an opportunity to learn what a red flag warning is and how to respond to it, as well as how to prepare our homes and businesses for wildfire. Presenters included:
- Rebecca Muessle, a Portland-based Incident Meteorologist from the National Weather Service discussed red flag warnings – what they are, why they happen, and what you should do when there is one.
- Dave Busby, City of Corvallis Fire Emergency Planning Manager, discussed wildfire preparedness, including how you can prepare your home or business before wildfire strikes.
