PROJECTS & EVENTS
Buy Local First
The Buy Local First initiative was launched in 2011 as a collaboration between the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition and the Corvallis Independent Business Alliance (CIBA). Through the years, the collaboration has evolved and at various times has included the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce, First Alternative Co-op, and Remarkable Arts. But our purpose has remained the same: to encourage community members and organizations to approach our local businesses FIRST when they need to purchase something. Supporting our local businesses is key to creating a sustainable local economy.
Saving Green
The Sustainability Coalition’s Saving Green program assists small and medium-sized workplaces in adopting more sustainable practices. We help businesses and other organizations save money while helping them become more energy and water efficient and also reduce their waste.
Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE)
PACE is a means of financing energy efficiency upgrades or renewable energy installations for residential, commercial and industrial property owners. Our team performed foundational work for the program, researching how it has worked in other communities and what is required to initiate a program in Corvallis. The Corvallis-Benton County Economic Development Office is moving this program forward, and our team is ready to help promote it once it’s in place locally.
