The Natural Areas Action Team has developed some ambitious goals and actions outlined in the newly revised Natural Areas section of Community Sustainability: A Framework for Action — soon to be published by the Sustainability Coalition. Take a look at the Natural Areas vision, goals, strategies, and actions here:
NATURAL AREAS_2013 – A Framework for Action

The Natural Areas Action team is working with the Community Services Consortium Volunteer Center to get the word out on the new volunteer networking site serving the Mid-Valley.  The HandsOn Linn-Benton site is brand new and has completely new software.  You’ll notice the changes as soon as you get to the home page.  The switch gives you more control in finding the information that’s important to you through a sophisticated (but very easy to use) search functionality.  If you were already a volunteer or organization on the old LBVision site an account has already been created for you in the new system.  If you’re new to the system then creating a new account and getting started volunteering is a snap.  We are so excited to have you explore the new HandsOn Linn-Benton site.  Volunteering just got a whole lot easier!
