Community Inclusion

Community Inclusion Action Team

A sustainable community is an inclusive and equitable community—one that honors and celebrates diversity and affirms community members for all aspects of their identity.

Equity Impact Assessment

One of the tools we’re using to evaluate our projects and activities is an Equity Impact Assessment. It’s a conversation starter to help broaden our thinking and awareness, and integrate equity into our work. We’re taking it to our action teams and helping them use it to assess their various projects.

Some of the areas covered in the Equity Impact Assessment are:

  • Defining Stakeholders
Who are the different groups of people the project would affect and how have they been engaged?
  • Inequities
Would the project affect different groups differently?
  • Root Causes
Why would the project affect some groups unequally and what could we do to address these root causes?
  • Evaluation
How do we measure the project’s success and how can we share that information with people?
